Dense Breasts

OK, what I'm wondering is how one tells if they have 'dense breasts'. Not really sure. Turns out they are related to breast cancer rates in younger women. The reuters aticle

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070121/hl_nm/cancer_breast_density_dc_1
discusses this. Seems like sometimes women know things instinctively and it take doctors a few years to catch up. It's good to trust yourself first.

CW-
I guess you can only tell from a mammogram. It's interesting that you found this article because this past Saturday one of my Jazzercise instructors lost her 60 year old (young) mother to Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC). A possible indication is "increased breast density compared to prior mammograms" according to http://www.ibcresearch.org/. This site says you don't have to have a lump to have breast cancer. Guess we just have to educate ourselves and be proactive.

Wow, that's rather scary.
Thanks for the link, this is definitely something everyone needs to be educated about.

I lost my mom at age 64 and she got sick around age 52.She was supremely healthy before that age. You just never know.

I think Dense Breasts sounds like the name of a punk rock band.
